Hobrook Road Closure Update - 20th April 2020

Holbrook Water Mains Replacement

We’ve been keeping you updated on our project to install new sections of water pipe; strengthening our network and improving your water pressure. We are getting back in touch to share changes that you can expect in the coming weeks. We now expect this work to finish late August 2020.

Things you need to know

Since we last wrote to you in May, we have been working on Ipswich Road under a road closure. We have now completed laying this section of pipe. The closure will remain in place until the 24 July 2020 while we carry out connections between the old pipe and the new; bringing it into use. Once the connection is complete, we will reinstate the road back to its original condition.

Soon, we plan to install a section of pipe on Primrose Hill (please see illustration overleaf). To do this safely, the following road closure will be in place:

• Primrose Hill (B1080)- Road Closure- 27 July 2020 until 14 August 2020.

When this work takes place, the junction of Back Hill will remain open. However, through access south will not be possible and the diversion in place will always have to be followed.

For residents living within our closure; access to and from your properties will be maintained. If you have any questions whilst we carry out this section of work, please speak to the team on site who will be happy to help you.

Coronavirus

As we continue to stay alert to protect lives from the Coronavirus, we want to reassure you that we continue to work hard providing one of life’s essential services - keeping taps flowing, toilets flushing and drains draining.

We have a dedicated team of operational experts who will be continuing to work in your area to keep our pipes, pumps and equipment running so we can all turn on the tap without a second thought.

Our responsibility for such an essential service is something we take very seriously, as is the safety of our customers and our colleagues. Our teams will be following government advice on social distancing while at work, and they will be limiting direct contact with customers unless it’s essential.

If you’re self-isolating, our teams will take the necessary precautions if we do need to visit you. Our priority is always to keep both you and our colleagues safe.

From all of us at Anglian Water, we wish you and your families well. Yours sincerely,

Amber Richardson
